December 5, 2024 | 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

The French Institute invites Karen Serres, curator of the exhibition Monet and London. Views of the Thames at the Courtauld Gallery (27 Sept – 19 Jan) – showcasing a group of paintings shown together for the first time in the UK since their inaugural presentation in Paris in 1904. She will discuss the importance of Monet’s London experience in his work with Jackie Wullschläger, chief Art critic of the Financial Times, and author of Monet. The Restless Vision (2023, Penguin Random House); a biography of the artist’s drawings on thousands of never-before-translated letters and unpublished sources. The book will be on sale during the event.
