DESCRIPTION:The Mythic Gang is an interactive musical comedy that throws the audience into the heart of Ancient Greece. Can you help Dionysus and the Mythic Gang save Persephone from gods and monsters? Forget about just watching a show; you must become part of the legend!    \nPersephone is in danger\, and a mythic gang of legendary creatures is formed to save her\, guided by the young god Dionysus. Forget about simply watching a show; you must become part of the legend! Our fearless singer-performer\, Tenorman\, guides volunteers from the audience to help act out the quest. Will you hold the thread in the Labyrinth? Play a many-headed Hydra? Or a fearsome Minotaur? The Mythic Gang is a joyous\, upbeat\, and unforgettable experience where the audience becomes the hero.  \nHelp Hercules\, Medusa\, Odysseus\, Zeus\, and a sarcastic Hades as they race to save the day. Featuring songs performed by Tenorman\, jokes and the spirit of playful participation\, The Mythic Gang makes the classics accessible and wildly entertaining for myth experts and first-time adventurers alike.  \nJoin us for an ultimate adventure – perfect for all ages\, school groups and anyone ready to play!   \nPlease note that all children must be accompanied by an adult\, and adults may only attend if accompanying a child. SUMMARY:In Transit: Greek Artists Abroad
DESCRIPTION:In Transit is a sculptural dialogue shaped by the lived reality of standing between places and identities. Bringing together Greek artists who have worked abroad\, the exhibition reflects our shared in-between state—where memory\, displacement\, humour\, and adaptation collide—revealing how constant movement reshapes who we are and how we belong.  \nEach work emerges from the friction of distance: between homeland and host country\, memory and present time\, certainty and reinvention. Sculpture becomes a language for what cannot be easily spoken—the weight of absence\, the elasticity of identity\, the quiet negotiations required to belong somewhere new without losing where you began.  \nRather than illustrating migration\, the exhibition embodies it. Materials shift\, forms seem unsettled\, and meanings remain open\, echoing the instability and possibility of diasporic life. Humour appears beside vulnerability\, resilience beside doubt. These works do not seek resolution but dwell in transition\, where transformation is constant and definitions remain fluid.  \nIn Transit is ultimately an exhibition about becoming—about how movement reshapes not only where we are\, but who we are allowed to be.  \nFeaturing artists: Irini Bachlitzanaki\, Byron Kalomamas\, Amanda Kyritsopoulou\, Anna Lytridou\, Theodoris Papandreopoulos\, Eleni Papazoglou\, Eleni Tomadaki\, Costas Xanthis and Eleni Zervou. \nImage: Eleni Zervou\, Cerberus Milk\, 2023

SUMMARY:Mapping Journeys – Grounding Roots by Christina Kapadocha
DESCRIPTION:Theatre artist and researcher Christina Kapadocha presents her original piece Mapping Journeys – Grounding Roots on World Refugee Day 2026. This participatory performance invites audiences to reflect on migration\, refuge\, identity and belonging through shared stories and gentle interaction.  \nWhat if our bodies are the maps of our life journeys?\nWhat if a simple handshake begins to unravel stories and connections?  \nPerformer Christina Kapadocha guides audiences through a gentle three-part reflective process: mapping our journeys\, grounding our roots\, centring our identities. Participants are prompted to listen differently\, notice details in simple gestures such as a handshake\, reflect on life transitions and sense how our bodies are held by spaces.  \nThe piece includes moments of interaction between audience and performer and among audience members. Participation is always optional and the experience is held with care. The performance lasts approximately one hour. A post-show space for creative writing and group conversation extends the invitation to share\, listen and connect. \nThe performance will be recorded. Verbal consent will be confirmed beforehand and seating options will be arranged according to your preferences. Under-18s may attend with guardian consent.  \nPresented in partnership with the Hellenic Centre for World Refugee Day 2026.\nFunded by the University of Essex Impact Fund\, supported by Research England.  \nThe event is part of Refugee Week. The Hellenic Centre is proud to continue its collaboration with Counterpoints Arts and be part of Refugee Week—the world’s largest arts and culture festival that honours the contributions\, creativity\, and resilience of people seeking sanctuary.  \n        \nFor further details\, click here.  \nChristina Kapadocha composed the sound dramaturgy of the piece using sound recordings captured during one-to-one sessions with the following artist-participants: Gülfem Özdoğan\, Maria Alexe\, Elena Hadjiafxendi\, Gabriela Schutz\, Jennifer Lim\, Olga Danylyuk\, Sara Masry and Angela Ekaette Michaels. \nSound design and technical support: Danny Scott \nImage: Photographic collage by Christina Kapadocha\, featuring the artist.

SUMMARY:Mama Klorin: A Conversation with Visual Artist and Women Cleaners
DESCRIPTION:A panel discussion centring the voices of women cleaners of Greece in the 1990s–2000s. Behind each mop-stroke lie displacement and invisible labour. Doreida Xhogu’s Mama Klorin explores memory\, migration\, class and human dignity\, issues that resonate across borders\, generations and social divides.  \nHere the women cleaners speak for themselves\, not as symbols\, but as people with voice\, memory and lived experience. Centring Doreida Xhogu’s Mama Klorin project\, initiated in 2015 as an emotional territory shaped by her and her mother’s experiences as migrant cleaning workers\, the conversation brings personal testimony into dialogue with art\, migration and social history.  \nThrough stories rarely heard in public\, the speakers trace what migration demanded of them and what it made possible: what they left behind (homes\, families\, lives and careers)\, and what they encountered on arrival\, often invisible labour\, inequality and the daily reality of being overlooked\, alongside resilience\, solidarity and persistence. They will reflect on the different routes that nonetheless converged in the same occupation and on the embodied experience of cleaning work. The tired body\, the passing glance\, the silence that can accompany everyday labour. Across each testimony emerges the richness of their identities as women\, mothers and workers\, reminding us that questions of dignity and value concern us all.  \nSpeakers: Adriana Xhogu\, Liliana Saliaj\, Maria Michalakopoulou\, Doreida Xhogu.   \nChair: Pari Vardhami and Ioanna Papapavlou\, curators of the exhibition Mama Klorin.
