Rising to attention at 17 with the Soloist Prize at the Târgu Mureș International Jazz Competition\, he has since received major accolades—including festival prizes such as Montreux and multiple Orszáczky Awards—and has performed alongside renowned jazz figures. \nBy his early twenties\, Oláh had already collected a string of prestigious accolades\, becoming the first Hungarian jazz pianist to reach the finals of the Thelonious Monk International Piano Competition in Washington\, D.C. in 2018. His list of honours now includes multiple Orszáczky Awards (2017\, 2022)\, the Artisjus Prize (2022\, 2025)\, and the Creative Artist Prize of the Cziffra Festival (2023). Alongside his performing career\, he also serves on the faculty of the Liszt Academy’s Jazz Department in Budapest. \nOláh’s music thrives on the fusion of classical composition and contemporary jazz improvisation\, creating a sound world that is both structurally sophisticated and emotionally alive. His central artistic drive is to synthesise these two traditions into a dynamic\, living vision of contemporary music. \n\n\nThe Krisztián Oláh Quartet \nThe quartet features: \n\nKálmán Oláh – saxophone\nMarcell Gyányi – double bass\nDániel Serei – drums\nKrisztián Oláh – piano\n\nTogether\, the ensemble is renowned for collective improvisation and creative energy.
