European Writers’ Festival 2026
February 9, 2026A professional development and cultural exchange programme for creative producers working in regions represented in the EU National Institutes of Culture network
The Factory International x EUNIC Creative Producers Programme is a collaborative initiative between EUNIC London and Factory International, designed to strengthen cultural dialogue and artistic collaboration between Europe and the UK.
Twelve creative producers from across Europe were selected through an open call and supported by EUNIC members, alongside one Manchester-based producer nominated by Factory International. Together, they will gather in Manchester to take part in a dynamic programme of networking, performances, and learning activities at Aviva Studios and across the city.
The programme aims to build a cross-disciplinary network of creative producers while fostering meaningful partnerships between European and UK cultural sectors. It provides a platform for peer learning, enabling participants to exchange best practices, ideas, and expertise, and facilitates connections with UK-based producers, artists, and organisations to catalyse future collaborations and long-term professional relationships.
The open call attracted 141 applications from eligible countries, reflecting an exceptionally high standard. The selected participants are: Johannes Maile (Austria), Stavros Stavrou (Cyprus), Marju Tajur (Estonia), Henri Turunen (Finland), Anna von Glasenapp (Germany), Carla Rogers (Ireland), Vilnius Vaitiekunas (Lithuania), Naomi van Dijck (Netherlands), Dominika Kraszewska (Poland), Romana Naruna Vieira (Portugal), Gábor Pintér (Hungary), and Petra Huisman (Sweden) and Flematu Sessay (Manchester/UK).
Factory International is a renowned Manchester based organisation based at Aviva Studios, one of UK’s newest and influential cultural buildings. Factory International operates both Aviva Studios and the biennial Manchester International Festival (MIF), which focuses on brand new artistic work, made through high-profile international collaboration. Factory International also runs a series of international touring, digital, skills and training and public engagement work.
EUNIC London (European Union National Institutes for Culture) is the network of the cultural institutes and embassies from the member states of the European Union in London. A branch of EUNIC Global, the London network was established in 2007 and presently has 37 members who share knowledge and resources in order to promote greater cooperation and develop partnerships between European nations and UK organisations.
