Identity – The Story of Czech Graphic Design exhibition, this event highlights Czech designers working in the UK and explores how identity both shapes and is shaped by design. Each speaker will share their unique perspective—whether through their creative process, personal journey, or the evolving relationship between culture and design.

Participating artists:
Jáchym Bouzek is a visual artist working across animated film and interactive video design for immersive live performances. His collaborative projects have been featured at the Barbican Centre, l’Odéon Paris, the West End, and Broadway. He experiments with blending traditional and digital techniques to push the boundaries of storytelling.

Filip Havlena is a freelance graphic designer specializing in the intersection of technology and brand identity. A graduate of University of the Arts London, he has collaborated with studios such as Accept & Proceed, Systems Studio, and FIELD.IO. His strategic and utilitarian approach connects timeless design principles with emerging technologies to shape modern visual identities.

Karolina Krupickova is the co-founder of
Studio Basic, an art director, and a design educator. Her practice focuses on creating visual identities within cultural discourse. She has lectured at the School of Visual Arts in New York and regularly teaches at the University of East London.

Ly Leova is a London-based Czech-Vietnamese mixed-media director, illustrator, and 3D artist. A graduate of Camberwell College of Arts, Ly was nominated for the 2023
Future 50: Founders and Freelancer Awards by the University of the Arts London. Her work combines 3D, 2D, motion capture, and XR to create playful, immersive narratives inspired by Vietnamese heritage, street culture, and pop aesthetics. Clients include Red Bull, Rick’s Retro, and FCB London.

Anna Niklova is an illustrator, graphic designer, animator, and printing specialist at Central Saint Martins, where she runs the Risograph workshop. Her work blends hand-drawn 2D animation with playful visual narratives in print and publishing. She has illustrated several children’s books for Czech publisher Meander and exhibited in Prague, London, and New York.

Lukáš Novotný is a London-based illustrator and graphic designer originally from Prague. With a background in architecture and civil engineering, his work focuses on cities and urbanism. His recent books

Radim Peško is a graphic artist and typographer working across type, editorial, and exhibition design. He is the founder of RP Digital Type Foundry and a visiting professor at ÉCAL Lausanne and ISIA Urbino. His work has been commissioned by institutions and brands such as Documenta, Frieze, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, and Jay-Z. He also co-curated the 26th and 27th Brno Biennial.
