War, Democracy and Resistance: the Stakes for Ukraine Today

The French Institute is proud to present an exceptional evening dedicated to Ukraine’s ongoing geopolitical challenges and cultural resilience. 

Join a panel discussion featuring leading voices—renowned political scientists, professors, and journalists—who will examine Ukraine’s pivotal role in Europe’s geopolitical landscape. Topics will include internal and external solidarity, democratic transition, and the resurgence of nationalism in the face of Russian imperialist policies.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Alexandra Goujon, French political scientist
  • Olga Tokariuk, independent journalist and researcher
  • Melanie Garson, Associate Professor in International Security in the Department of Political Science at University College London

The conversation will be followed by a screening of Intercepted (2024), the latest documentary by acclaimed filmmaker Oksana Karpovych, offering a powerful artistic perspective on the war’s human and political dimensions.
