May 30, 2025April – July 2025, Bradford
The European Season in Bradford 2025 is a vibrant season of performances, exhibitions, and cultural encounters across Bradford, celebrating the rich diversity of European cultures and their dialogue with local communities. Co-created with European and UK artists, the project places youth voices, shared identities, and artistic collaboration at its heart—offering new perspectives on what it means to belong in Bradford, in the UK, and in Europe today.
The season officially launched on Wednesday 30 April 2025 at the newly opened Loading Bay Theatre. The event was formally opened by His Excellency Pedro Serrano, EU Ambassador to the UK, who delivered a powerful keynote speech on the importance of nurturing and sustaining cultural ties between Europe and the UK. His remarks were followed by welcoming words from Shanaz Gulzar (Creative Director, Bradford 2025), Dan Bates (Executive Director, Bradford 2025), and Jeroen Deckmyn (President, EUNIC London), each highlighting the vital role of international collaboration within the UK City of Culture framework.
